I dont have a current version of BE I have tried to install 10d, and - but, all it will let me install is the remote administrator portion but NOT the actual backup exec server.
BE should let you restore BE 10d data. Download the ISO below and leave all the licenses in trial mode certainly the media server license would be all you needed if you are restoring pictures Obviously add the B2D folder, catalog the information, and in the restore tab, make sure the date selection is either correctly selected, or not selected at all to show you everything.
Symantec Backup Exec 10d Backup Exec BE is compatible with Windows XP as a media server. Connect the drive and restore it that way. What I did was just install server on the machine I am positive the backup set is complete I restored off of it about 6 mos ago using 10d.
